So today was a bit of a different day. I have been consistent in my first two days, following the exercise and following the nutrition. Today I woke up and was feeling rather blah about the whole affair. In times past, this blah feeling would have caused a self pity throw in the towel day. Not today!
Today, I readily and quickly identified that the "blah" feeling was due to some personal stress and not really diet/exercise related. So I jumped in and continued on with the program. I did notice a few things. With other programs I have used, the day would be so intense, and knowing that ahead of time, I would not even be able to muster the commitment part of the motivation to get me rear in gear. However, knowing this program was not like that, I was able to muster the "I committed" part of the motivation and go ahead. And to be honest, I did feel somewhat better for having pushed through for two reasons: 1) I succeeded in pushing through (a victory for me) and 2) the exercise reduced some of the stress.
Another thing I have noticed is that I no longer feel the need for coffee in the morning. Prior to starting this, I was noticing that coffee was becoming ineffectual and my system was becoming somewhat immune to it. However, since starting Shakeology, I am finding that I don't event think about needing coffee in the morning to kick start me.
Now, so far I have not seen a drop in weight, however, I think there are a few reasons. One, the six day diet included is based on a lot of clean eating. Fruits, vegies, protein and no carbs as an initial weight loss. However, I was raised as a clean eater. We didn't eat a lot of junk growing up and as a result, I have very little junk in my house. I don't even regularly stock cookies. So the switch to clean eating really didn't alter my diet a lot. As a result it will be the exercise that drops the weight and as well all know, when you begin to exercise you don't drop weight immediately because muscle weighs more than fat. So as you are developing muscles, your weight may stay the same or increase. The trick is to continue to push through this initial phase.
That being said, although I haven't took my measurements, I am suspecting that I am carving away some inches, as I am starting to look a little firmer and toned. So, I will continue to update here my journey so that you can follow it and see my results.
Here's to another day tomorrow!
This is about my story and journey to become fit and healthy and my efforts to help others do the same!!!!!
